Mobile broadband has enabled people to work, play and interact with others from a much larger variety just by plugging in a USB modem or dongle you can get instant access to the internet wherever there is a signal.

Broadband

is short for broad bandwidth and is used for moving large amounts of data from one place to another it is powerful enough to support full motion video with which you can interact in real time.
It is most often thought of as greater than or faster than 2 Mbps that is Megabytes per second but some providers will go slower if the telephone cable is not modern enough or does not have a booster in the line.
There are two key factors to speed:
Where you live- built up areas generally have faster broadband speeds. Additionally, the distance of your house from the telephone exchange has a bearing on the speed that you can expect.
Which ISP you choose.

Do I need Broadband?

1.Well firstly if you use the internet frequently then you will find using Broadband is a far more rewarding experience than Dial-up the difference in speed while surfing is enormous.
2.If you want to download that is acquire data such as movies or music then it is an absolute must.
3.Likewise if you have a small business and intend to operate a website you will also want a fast internet connection.
4.If you make a lot of phone calls you can also use an internet phone with your fast internet connection and save yourself a small fortune.
5.Uploading that is you send information from your pc to another location eg if you attach photographs to an e-mail you will need to upload those photos to the email server or company. This also is faster and more reliable than using a dial up connection.
6.Watching video or listening to digital radio on line.
If you answer yes to any of the above then a broadband connection is for you so it is only a matter of comparing different packages and bundles to see what is right for you.
In addition to speed, you should consider:
Monthly Cost
Contract length. Normally there are 6, 12 or 18 month tie-ins depending on the ISP and package
Download Limits. Some ISPs will allow unlimited downloading, others will limit your allowance.
Bundling options. Some packages give you telephone calls, line rental and TV.
